To stay compliant with BS 8243 or BS EN 50131 standards, you should have your intruder alarm professionally maintained at least once a year. If your system is police-monitored, insurance providers usually require two inspections annually. It’s not just about the paperwork – regular checks prevent the middle-of-the-night false alarms that annoy your neighbours.
Yes. We specialise in IP CCTV installations that link directly to an app on your smartphone or tablet. As long as you’ve got an internet connection, you can view live feeds or playback recorded footage from anywhere in the world. It’s the most common request we get, and we’ll set the whole thing up for you before we leave the site.
It will. Every system we install includes a backup battery that takes over the moment the mains power fails. These batteries typically keep your sensors and sirens active for 8 to 12 hours. If your battery is more than four years old, it might struggle – that’s why we check battery health during every visit. Read more on our Fire Alarm Maintenace page
If you choose a monitored system, a signal is sent immediately to our Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). They’ll verify the threat and contact you, your keyholders, or the police. If it’s an unmonitored “bells-only” system, it’ll just make a noise and hope a neighbour notices. For high-risk sites, we always recommend professional monitoring for genuine peace of mind.
We do. Our engineers have seen every type of kit out there. Whether it’s an old analogue CCTV setup or a modern wireless alarm, we can usually take over the maintenance or fix faults. We’ll start with a quick site survey to check if your current gear meets BS 7671 wiring regs and go from there.
Modern wireless technology is excellent. We use encrypted signals that resist jamming, making them just as secure as traditional cables for most homes and small offices. They’re much quicker to install and don’t involve lifting floorboards. However, for massive industrial sites, we still often recommend a hardwired for maximum stability. A traditional alarm just makes noise. A smart system integrates with your home or office, sending push notifications to your phone, allowing remote arming, and even linking with your lights. It’s about control and information. You’ll know exactly when your staff arrive.
Based in Glasgow, our experienced engineers support businesses throughout the Central Belt of Scotland, and the surrounding areas.
